Real questions from real buyers.
Below are the questions our clients ask most often before, during, and after an engagement — answered with the candor you'd expect from a senior engineering partner.
Who owns the code, designs, and intellectual property once the project ships?
You do — 100%, with no licensing hooks, escrow, or co-ownership clauses. Upon payment of each milestone invoice, all custom source code, mobile app binaries, database schemas, design files, and documentation are transferred to your company in full. We sign an explicit IP assignment at project kickoff so there are no surprises at exit.
Will you sign a mutual NDA before we share our product roadmap?
Yes — we have a standard mutual NDA available to execute within 24 hours, or we will sign yours. We treat every discovery conversation, technical brief, and architecture diagram as confidential by default, even before paperwork is in place. Sensitive materials are exchanged over encrypted channels and access is restricted to named team members only.
How do you approach system architecture and tech stack selection?
Every engagement begins with a documented discovery phase where we map your business workflows into a technical blueprint — data models, service boundaries, third-party integrations, non-functional requirements, and risk register. We choose the tech stack based on team familiarity, hiring market, total cost of ownership, and exit portability, not on what's trending. The architecture is reviewed by senior engineers before a single line of code is written.
What security and compliance standards do you build against?
Security is built in, not bolted on. We follow OWASP ASVS guidelines, run automated dependency scanning on every build, perform peer code review for security-sensitive changes, and segregate environments by data classification. We have shipped systems aligned with SOC 2, HIPAA, GDPR, and PCI-DSS requirements, and we maintain active organization accounts in the Apple Developer Program and Google Play Console for compliant mobile deployments.
Which technologies, languages, and frameworks do you specialize in?
Our core production stack is Laravel 12 and Node.js on the backend; React, Next.js, and Vue on the web frontend; Swift and Kotlin for native mobile; plus Flutter and React Native for cross-platform. We work extensively with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and major payment providers including Stripe and Relay Financial. We are stack-agnostic when a project genuinely calls for it — Python and Go engineering pods are available for data and AI workloads.
How does delivery work day-to-day — sprints, demos, communication cadence?
We run two-week sprint cycles with weekly demo builds, async standups, and a written weekly progress brief you can forward to your stakeholders. Every sprint delivers working, deployable software — not slide decks. Code is pushed to your private Git repository from day one, you receive Jira-style issue transparency, and a senior engineer is on-call in your shared Slack channel for the entire engagement.
What engagement models do you offer and how is pricing structured?
Five models, scoped to your situation: fixed-price for well-defined MVPs and discrete deliverables, time-and-materials when scope evolves, dedicated team for long-term product roadmaps, staff augmentation when you need senior engineers inside your existing workflow, and monthly retainers for post-launch support and SLAs. Pricing is transparent — rates, sprint allocations, and out-of-scope change orders are agreed in writing before any work begins.
How do you handle deployments, CI/CD, and production reliability?
Every project ships with a reproducible build pipeline — GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, automated testing on every pull request, containerized deployments via Docker, and infrastructure-as-code for AWS or your preferred cloud. We use blue-green and canary release patterns to eliminate downtime. Production telemetry, error tracking, log aggregation, and uptime monitoring are configured before launch so we know the system is healthy before your users do.
What does communication look like across time zones?
We overlap at least four hours with every major timezone — US, EU, Middle East, and APAC — and offer a 24/7 incident rotation for production systems under SLA. Working hours, on-call windows, and escalation paths are codified in your engagement charter so there is never ambiguity about who to contact at 2 AM. Most async day-to-day coordination happens in Slack, Linear, or your existing project tooling.
What happens after launch — do you provide ongoing support?
Yes. Every engagement closes with a structured handover: runbooks, architecture documentation, recorded walkthroughs, repository transfer, and credentials rotated to your ownership. We then offer tiered monthly retainers covering security patching, dependency upgrades, performance tuning, feature iterations, and on-call incident response. Many clients keep us on retainer for 12+ months; others fully internalize the team — either outcome is supported.
How quickly can we get started?
A discovery call can usually be booked within 24 hours. A signed NDA, scoped discovery document, and architecture blueprint follow within the first week. Dedicated pods typically deploy within 1 to 2 weeks of kickoff. If your timeline is aggressive, we can pre-allocate senior engineers through a short planning sprint so engineering starts on day one rather than after a long ramp-up.
